History of BSideAmman

BSIDESAMMAN’S FIRST ITERATION WAS IN APRIL, 2019. ORGANIZED BY RAMI AHMAD, LAYLA ALZOUBI AND MOHAMMAD ASKAR AS THE MAIN TEAM, IT CREATED THE STEPPING STONE FOR NEXT VERSIONS OF BSIDESAMMAN. IT HELD A GREAT LARGE CTF SPONSORED BY HACKTHEBOX, AND WAS COVERED BY THE LOCAL MEDIA.

AFTER A SUCCESSFUL FIRST ITERARTION, A NEW BSIDESAMMAN VERSION WAS UNDERWAY, SCHEDULED FOR 2020. HOWEVER COVID RUINED THOSE PLANS AND BSIDESAMMAN WAS DELAYED WITH NO FURTHER NOTICE UP UNTIL A NEW POST EMERGED REGARDING THE NEXT VERSION IN 2021. IT WAS HELD VIRTUALLY AND HAD WORKSHOPS AND TALKS ON DIFFERENT TECHNICAL TOPICS. IT WAS STREAMED ON ALL BSIDESAMMAN SOCIALS

In 2025, Mohammad Al-Adwan took over BSides Amman began forming a new organizing team, while of the previous team continued contributing as advisors. This effort led to the successful return of BSides Amman 2025, which became the largest edition since 2019, bringing together more than 700 attendees and marking a strong new chapter for the conference.

Building on that momentum, BSides Amman 2026 is now in preparation with even greater ambition. The upcoming edition aims to expand its technical depth, community reach, and interactive experience through stronger partnerships, new activities, and a broader platform for cybersecurity professionals, students, and researchers across the region.
